INCREDIBLY AFFECTIONATE COMPANION DOB 5/1/12 Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Jack, a remarkably sweet black DSH/ Bombay mix fella with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big copper-penny eyes who has a heart as gentle as my purrs. My favorite spot is perched on either Foster Meowmy’s chest or Daddy’s lap where I can provide them with a constant source of comfort and companionship. I overheard Foster Meowmy tell someone, “Jack’s kind soul embodies the true essence of affection.” Typical to Bombay mixes, I’m a Velcro kitty who likes to stick close to my hoomans, so I enjoy trailing behind them as they move about the house. I’m thrilled when they use wand toys to play interactively with me, and I’m especially fascinated with playing soccer with poofy toy mice. My journey hasn't been without challenges. It began on the streets when I was a kitten, but I found a loving home when my first family adopted me from a shelter. However, after eleven years, they adopted a new puppy, who relentlessly bit me. Even though I’d been a member of their family for over a decade, they chose to re-home me and not the new puppy. Only a year later, my hopes of a forever home were shattered again when my new hooman developed serious health issues and was no longer able to care for me. My current family stepped up to the plate and offered to foster me, and they fell in love with me instantly. However, their resident cats were not so enthusiastic about the new "intruder" and frankly have been jealously making my serenity impossible. I always opt for a gentle approach, even in moments of stress. My pacific nature shines through as I prefer to explore every alternative before responding to their nips and swats. Yet, the resident kitties remain fractious, even after an extended period of time. Reluctantly, my foster family thinks it’s best for me to find a more tranquil environment, free from the chaos of kids or unfriendly pets, that’s better suited to my sensitive nature. True confessions: I may be a bit timid initially and require more time than the average cat to adjust to my new surroundings. I hide at unfamiliar noises, but rest assured, I emerge when the promise of cuddles is in the air. Once acclimated to my environment, my warm and appreciative meows soon resonate in my home.
