Wanting to love and be loved are on full display with senior boys Grits and Oats! Charming, curious and playful Grits and gentle, easygoing, independent Oats are looking to spend their golden years in a quiet home where they can shower their person with affection. Could that be with you? Grits and Oats are excellent communicators who like to be near their person and will let you know when they’d like some attention. Once comfortable, Oats will gaze at you, give a little tap with his paw, or offer a quiet meow to say he’d adore some bellyrubs or chin and neck scratches, please. With that, he’ll flop on his side, purr, and may make air biscuits or hug your hand. Grits likes to be picked up and will purr as soon as you hold him close. He’ll also crawl into your lap, and neck scratches and pets down his back are the best! Playtime has a distinctly different rhythm with this bonded pair: Grits the hunter, shows surprising energy for his age and during short sessions will stand on his hind legs to catch a toy or give a little chase to trap his prey. He’s also an explorer, taking breaks to stare out the window. However, if you wave a wand toy in front of Oats, he may watch and bat it around, but not for long. He prefers throwing soft toys around or using them as a pillow and finds cat tv the best entertainment ever! Both cats have excellent litter box habits. They both have Stage 2 kidney disease and they are on a kidney-friendly wet food diet along with HydraCare. Grits and Oats are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
