Meet Poe, a 3-month-old male Domestic Short Hair.Poe arrived at our shelter after staff heard meowing outside the dog kennels and to our surprise there was a cute little kitten! Poe was pretty sick, so he has had a long journey at our clinic and in a loving foster home, but he is now ready to find his forever home! Poe has a wonderful, playful personality with lots of energy. He will keep his new adopter very entertained. Poe has been around small dogs and did wonderful with them as long as they were ok with a rambunctious kitten trying to play with them!Please remember that they are kittens, and that kitten behavior comes with the package. They need lots of toys and places to scratch to learn good scratching habits. They also need patience as they finesse their litter box skills in a new home they are unfamiliar with.If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known.
