Come meet Menea and other great adoptable cats this Sunday, August 13 from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Rockville (5454 Nicholson Ln, Rockville, MD 20895)! Name: Menea Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age : 1 year as of 4/9/2023 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 5.5 lbs as of 1/2/2023 Coloring : Brown Tabby & White! Type of Hair : Short Gets Along With: With proper integration, Mecca should get along with other cats, dogs, and kids. We’re happy to help with tips and tricks! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Living With: Mecca, Menea I am Looking For: Menea is looking for a home where she can feel safe and secure. She needs an adopter who is patient and understanding, and who is willing to work with her to help her overcome her shyness. Menea would also benefit from a home with a calm and quiet environment where she can relax and feel comfortable. Since she loves food, an adopter who is willing to provide her with a healthy diet and use treats for training and bonding would be ideal. Menea would also enjoy having plenty of cozy spots to nap and play in, as well as opportunities to explore and learn new things. Above all, Menea is looking for a loving and caring adopter who will provide her with the attention and affection she deserves. Mecca and Menea enjoy spending time together and love to play and cuddle with each other. Adopting both cats would not only provide them with a lifelong companion but also double the joy and entertainment for their new family. What My Foster Says About Me : Hi, my name is Menea! I am a small girl with a big attitude. I am very attached to my brother Mecca, and would really like a home with him, as we chase each other, sleep together, eat together and groom each other. It has taken me a good month to adjust to the other cats in my foster home, but I am starting to get along with them. I particularly admire the oldest cat and have started to copy his behaviors. Every morning I help the resident cats wake my fosters to pet us and give us morning cuddles. Sometimes I am first into the bed and will get the coveted spot on my foster’s chest. I’m trying to copy the oldest cat’s lap cat behaviors, but I’m a little hyper, so don’t expect me to lay down next to you for more than 20 seconds (I try, but then I get distracted). Do expect me to pace over top of you asking for pets. Once I am not a teenager any more, I may figure out this whole lap thing, but right now, I’m still too hyper. Speaking of hyper: I really, really like to play. I will play with you, if you get a string for me or a feather wand (that game is really fun!) or I will play by myself with my toys. I like all the toys! I NEED toy mice, and I will carry them around and remove their stuffing! I will also turn your things into toys. So, watch your socks, they may start to walk on their own. I am also a climber and an explorer who sees no reason I cannot just push whatever is in my way out of my way. I have the cutest squeak of a meow and I like to sing for my meals. I eat anything that has been served (including raw) and I am used to eating three square meals a day on a schedule, but would adjust to two. I would not be a good cat for young children as I am easily startled, and regularly smack (no claws) cats that startle me. I need a calm, quiet home. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats will be $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together).
