If you have ever wanted a gray panther sleekly moving around your home, Trey is your cat. He's handsome, loyal, and very large. And he'll get bigger! Trapped when he was about 10 weeks old, he has been working very hard to trust humans for over 6 months. But don't be concerned! He is not aggressive; he's just scared and will hide until he is confident that he is safe around you. He was the last of a litter of three to be trapped, to learn to trust humans, and now to be available for adoption. He loves to be brushed, receive pets and head rubs, play with feather wands, and he even enjoys the tiny pestering kittens with whom he shares a foster home. He is great with other cats, has never met a dog, and loves kids who can keep calm around him. More often than not, he purrs after just seeing members of his foster family. He hates the cat carrier, isn't sure about being picked up, and we've never heard him meow. Trey would be great with a cat savvy individual or family who is willing to give him all the time he needs to build trust after yet another change. He would also benefit from a home with a friendly cat or little kitten who he can observe and learn from. Once he has your trust, he will likely be one of the most loyal and gentle pets you've ever had. He's a cat to remember! Trey is unlikely to show well at Petsmart due to his personality. We are open for home visits.Adoption processDuring review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease. We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption. Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative. All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted. You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings).
