Sarah is a delightful, talkative 13 year-old female Siamese with an impressive vocabulary. She enjoys feather-wand toys but her very favorite “toy” is a large piece of kraft paper which she uses as a sled, a tent, and a hiding place for her special furry mice. Sarah is very affectionate and loves head/face/cheek rubs and back rubs, but prefers to sit beside you rather than be a lap-cat. Sarah must have been a WALMART Greeter in a prior life because she rushes to meet visitors and introduce herself. She loves to climb and explore. Her favorite foods are: Tiki Cat mousse (tuna & mackerel flavor) andTiki Cat Born Carnivore Chicken & Egg dry kibble. Her “jackpot” treat is tuna flavor Tiki Cat Stix. She has excellent litter box habits. Sarah gets along well with other cats but tends to be deferential to them and as such we believe her ideal home is as an only-cat. As with many older Siamese, Sarah has early-stage kidney disease (no medication required) and a mild case of hyperthyroidism that is manageable with a daily dose of medication. The medication is in liquid form and easy to administer. Sarah’s current owners adopted her 5 years ago from ASR. They are heart-broken to re-home Sarah but they have developed medical issues which prevent them from giving her the care she deserves in her senior years.##1965666##Adoption processInterested adopters go through a careful screening process to include reference checks, telephone interviews, and where appropriate, home visits. No cat will be placed in a new home which allows cats to go outside. The adoptive owners agree to give Austin Siamese Rescue, Inc. the option of reclaiming the cat, should the adoption not work to the advantage of the new owner and the cat. Adoption fees for Austin Siamese Rescue, Inc. range from $100 to $225 and include such vet work as combo test, vaccinations, worming and flea control, and microchip. We spay or neuter all of our cats prior to placement and most of our kittens, depending on their size and readiness.
