Okra is a huntress. She will chase, jump, twirl & crouch in wait, inching silently closer at each slight move of a prey. She has no interest in any type of toy that just lays around, but interact with her with a moving toy & she's all in! She's been a cautious cat during her two weeks in a foster home, taking time to trust, but even so, she gets lonesome if left alone very long & will then come & want petting. She can be very vocal when she is lonely and insecure but in her foster home, she has decided that her original foster room is her safe zone and when she is closed in there, she is content and doesn't cry to go find you. She purrs immediately & will lay down for petting on her back & stomach. So far, she doesn't sit in her foster's lap but that may come in time. What her short hair lacks in softness, it makes up for in incredibly sleek smoothness. As for compatibility with other pets, I can only say she shows some interest in my 15 year old cat, will cautiously & non-aggressively approach to a safe distance. Given proper slow introductions to another relaxed cat, she should do well but we do not know her history with dogs. Meet Okra at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, during our weekly adoption event from 12-4pm. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption.
