NUGGET is a brown tabby teenager kitty with dramatic stripes on his legs and tail. He is a smart and energetic teenager who lives for playtime. He loves to chase any wand toy offered, and he will play with a wide variety of toys on his own. Some of his favorites are plastic springs, ping pong balls and catnip-filled kickers. Nugget is highly intelligent, and will work for interactive play. He quickly learned to "boop" a finger with his nose and give high fives. He is curious and very interested in what people are doing. He regularly has chirpy conversations with his foster family. While he is still shy about being pet, he loves being followed around until he is in a comfortable place for affection. He will likely take some time to warm up in a new home, but he is easily brought out of his shell with playtime and treats. Once he gets comfortable, you will be rewarded with a sweet boy who is ready to grow into your devoted companion for life! Nugget is looking for a home with a quieter family who can engage his curious and smart nature. Nugget has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $175 ($320 for a pair) adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet. All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.Shelter locationOur cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 12:30-2:30pm, Sat.-Sun.
