Nickie is a darling Russian Blue mix female born approximately 10/11/2021. "I was pulled from a local shelter for "rescue only." They said I was so scared, no one would want me. But... from the first day in my foster home, I met Misti, and my whole world got better. She made me feel safe and showed me that it isn't as scary being around people as I thought it was. We became friends really fast and I watched her and learned how to be a cat. No longer scared. My foster mom gives me treats in her lap and pets me. I have slowly learned to trust people - especially if you have food! Just show me the bowl and I know what it is. I have bonded so much with Misti, so we want to stay together. We will entertain you with playing, or just enjoy cuddling on the couch. We share our foster home with many cats, but would really love our own fur-ever home. Dogs are okay, but I'm a little nervous until I get used to them." Nickie is microchipped and currently in a foster home. Some have been dumped at shelters or vets, and many are ill or malnourished when rescued. Although the animal has been in a protected environment, there is the possibility of unrecognized illness appearing after an adoption is finalized, especially because of the stress the animal may experience during the first few days at its new home. We advise adopters of the animal's known history and provide its veterinary records, but frequently we know only what the animal chooses to tell us. We cannot make any guarantee regarding the long-term health of any animal. Adoption fees are generally not refundable unless prior arrangements are made.
