Meet Moose, your new best friend! Moose is currently being fostered in the Wellington/Kendall Square area of Cambridge, MA. Moose is a darling little kitten who was found as a stray, and is estimated to be just short of 12 weeks old. She's affectionate, playful, and easy going - all the things a kitten should be! Moose tested positive for FIV, and negative for FeLV. Because she was a stray and we don't know who her mother was, we don't know if this is a true diagnosis, or a false positive. Tests for FIV look for antibodies in blood, and until kittens are (roughly) half a year old, kittens maintain both their own and their mother's antibodies. Therefore, it's possible that she will test negative in a few months once her mother's antibodies leave her system!
