ONROE ~~ Domestic Shorthair, Neutered Male, Black, 14.5 pounds, DOB: 4/14/2015 Meet our big and sassy boy Monroe! He is absolutely stunning with a silky, shiny sable black coat. If you are a fan of large male cats, Monroe is your guy! He is eligible for our Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program, so if you are a senior citizen yourself and would like to adopt this handsome guy, we will waive his adoption fee completely and give you a 20% discount on all future vet services, food, medications, etc., if purchased from us. You'd never know this boy is a senior pet! ABOUT MONROE: He is a very independent cat who may take a little time to warm up to new people. Give him the time and space to get to know you, and before you know it, he will be rubbing on your legs and may even reward you by jumping up in your lap for a minute. He would love to have a cat tree to climb, some comfy beds and a large window to look out of and watch the birds and squirrels from! This boy definitely has some cat-itude ~~ he can be temperamental and wants love and affection on his terms, like many cats. Monroe may not be a super cuddly lap cat, but may surprise you and want to jump up into your lap. He is very much a contradiction at times! He is currently on Gabapentin 3 times per day and is responding well to that for some boarding related anxiety. Monroe should be able to be weaned off the medication once he is comfortable and happy in his new home. OTHER PETS/KIDS? We are not sure how he is with dogs or other cats, but may do well with other calm and non-aggressive pets in the home. Monroe should do well with older children who know not to try and hold him or pick him up. MEDICAL: Monroe is healthy, up to date on vaccines and vet services, has a negative fecal test and combo test. He will come to his new home with 1 month Feline Revolution Plus for heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites and ear mites. He should remain on this for life to keep him healthy and happy. We are closed on all major holidays.Adoption processOur goal is to find good homes for all of the sick and injured pets we have, and to adopt them out in the best health possible. Each pet is fully vetted and cared for by our amazing Veterinary Staff! Our adoption fee is $130, which includes a spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, and a microchip. We offer a two week trial period, during which time you may return the pet for a full refund if the placement does not work out. We will accept a pet back after two weeks, but no refund will be issued. If a pet is returned after a longer time period we may require a $130 relinquishment fee. We do not perform home visits or have any particular adoption requirements, such as fenced yard. We do, however, reserve the right to turn down potential adopters if we feel like it will not be in the best interest of the pet.Shelter locationOur Clinic is located at 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30AM to 7:00PM and Saturday-Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We have a few adoption events at the Clinic each year. All of our adoptable pets may be visited at the Clinic at any time. However, if a pet is labeled as being fostered, please call ahead so we can arrange to have the pet available for you.
