Monica is a curious and playful spirit, always exploring her surroundings with wide-eyed wonder. While she can be a bit sensitive to handling and may get overstimulated at times, her favorite way to bond is through gentle cheek scratches. Monica can be initially shy, but warms up quickly. With a little understanding and a calm approach, you’ll find that Monica has a sweet, loving side just waiting to shine. Monica would love to find a home with her best friend Mario, although they are not considered a bonded pair. They would share an adoption fee if they go home together. Monica is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $75Adoption processPet ownership is a serious responsibility. The policy of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is to ensure that each person who adopts a pet not only is aware of the responsibility, but that each person is willing and able to accept that responsibility morally, physically and financially. Not every person who desires to own a pet should own a pet. The adoption application is designed to help us make the best placement possible — the right home for each animal and the right animal for your home. The adoption process takes time because we are committed to giving you all the information and support you need to have a successful adoption. We ask for your patience and cooperation in the joyful process of bringing people and animals together. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN ADOPTION, YOU MUST:• Be at least 18 years of age.• Provide a suitable confined area for the animal.• Understand that the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe reserves the right to deny any adoption. Our adoption fees are as follows: Dogs (over four months) = $110.00 Puppies (under four months) = $160.00 Cats (over four months) = $75.00 Kittens (under four months) = $100.00 Adoption fees will be due upon completion of adoption. Cash, check or credit cards are gladly accepted.Shelter locationOur shelter is located at 10961 Stevens Lane in Truckee, and we are open to the public Monday through Saturday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We encourage potential adopters to come to the shelter to meet the animal they are interested in adopting during our public hours! Every pet adopted from the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated & microchipped.
