If you’re a fan of Kelly Clarkson and cats we have the PURRfect kitty waiting for you!!! Kelly Clarkson came in with her 2 babies and was a great mom. She is very loving, a bit of a talker, but not as much as her name sake! She is a sweetheart that has lived with several cats and dogs. She has been great with all the cats here, but was adopted and returned as she was a little rough with their dog. Could be she needs more time to settle into a home. She’s great with all people and will make a wonderful family pet. At 4 years old she is more mellow than a kitten but still fun and playful. This kitty is wonderful and once you meet her you’ll agree! Adoption fee-$125 Due to the strict animal import laws in MA, we can not adopt to MA residents. We are open Wednesday thru Saturday from noon to 4 for walk-ins. To get preapproved to adopt same day go to our website spfldhumane.org and fill out an application. If you have a vet for current or past animals you’ll need to contact them to permit them to speak to us so we can process it.Adoption processWe require a completed adoption application prior to adoption, but you're welcome to come visit our animals any time we're open. Our fees cover all vaccinations, spay/neuter, worming, flea prevention, microchip, collar and ID tag, and are as follows: Cats - $100, Kittens (8weeks to 6 months) are $125 and up. Senior cats (over 7) are $60. Barn buddies (feral or has litterbox issues)-$40. Dogs - $200 and up, Puppies (8 weeks to 6 months) $300 and up. Senior (8 years and up) $100. Rabbit _$50 (are fixed before adoption) All animals besides feral cats are microchipped. Purebred puppies and adults adoption fees are set per dog. We do not require a home visit, however we will ask for landlord permission if you rent. We rely heavily on vet references, but also ask for personal references.Shelter locationOur open hours are Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 4:30. We sometimes have pets available for meeting at various fundraisers. Please check our web page or facebook page for information on upcoming events. We are currently open by appointment only with approved applicants. If you would like to see a specific animal or have an approved application on hand please go to our website spfldhumane.org and fill out an application. We keep all approved applications for a year and go though them before we post animals online.
