Jalapeno is a cute 10-week old female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on July 28, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found her on Short Street in Marietta Ohio along with her mother (Pepperoncini) and her two siblings (Habanero and Tabasco). Jalapeno has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, a splash of white her muzzle, and long white whiskers. Jalapeno and her siblings are nearly identical twins, so thankfully our HSOV Kennel techs gave them each a uniquely-colored kitten collar in order to tell them apart at a glance. Jalapeno is wearing a pink collar. These youngsters (and their mother Pepperoncini) were still working on their social skills when these photos were taken on August 11th. Jalapeno was given vaccinations and wormer on July 28, 2024. Jalapeno was spayed on August 20, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 3.1 lbs that day.Adoption processOur adoption process includes an adoption application which must be completed and approved by our shelter management. We verify veterinarian references and also approval from landlords if the pet will be housed in rental property. Home visits may also be required prior to adoption. All dogs/cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee for dogs is $150.00 which includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, dog tag, microchip, and spay/neuter. Adoption fee for cats is $40 and includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, and spay/neuter. Most adult cats (and kittens over 3-months of age) have already been spayed/neutered. Adoption fees for other species varies.Shelter locationWe are located at 90 Mt. Tom Rd. in Marietta ,Ohio 45750. We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm; Sunday from Noon to 3:00pm. . Closed on Monday..
