Griffin is an adorable male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on July 27, 2024 along with his mother (Unicorn) and his two siblings (Dragon and Pegasus). Unfortunately the individual(s) who entrusted this little family to our care did not provide any information about them. Griffin and his brother/sister were 3-month old kittens at that time. Griffin has a buff-colored short smooth coat in a tabby pattern, a long ringed tail, and a cute (rather mischievous-looking) face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Since Griffin and his siblings were fully weaned when they entered our shelter, another litter of orphaned kittens were placed with their mother (Unicorn) on August 2nd. So the 'three little kittens' romped and played in their own large cage where they royally entertained each other. Griffin was given vaccinations and wormer on July 27, 2024. He weighed 3 lbs that day. Griffin was given booster vaccines on August 13, 2024. These 'big boy' photos were taken on October 13, 2024 when Griffin (and his brother Dragon) explored our 'studio' and melted the hearts of HSOV Volunteers Emma Dahlgren and Carolyn Blanchard who helped the boys with their photo session. Griffin has a sweet, playful disposition. He chose to pose for most of his photos in the small basket which turned out to have been a good choice since they showed his cute, charming personality. Griffin was neutered on October 22, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 5.2 lbs that day. Griffin and his brother Dragon had approved adoption applications and were being held after they were neutered for their new family.. That adopter changed their mind on November 5th, so Griffin and Dragon are once again available for adoption. Naturally we would still love to see them find a home together as a bonded pair.Adoption processOur adoption process includes an adoption application which must be completed and approved by our shelter management. We verify veterinarian references and also approval from landlords if the pet will be housed in rental property. Home visits may also be required prior to adoption. All dogs/cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee for dogs is $150.00 which includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, dog tag, microchip, and spay/neuter. Adoption fee for cats is $40 and includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, and spay/neuter. Most adult cats (and kittens over 3-months of age) have already been spayed/neutered. Adoption fees for other species varies.Shelter locationWe are located at 90 Mt. Tom Rd. in Marietta ,Ohio 45750. We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm; Sunday from Noon to 3:00pm. . Closed on Monday..
