Cat Benatar and her sister Lickerish are a bonded pair who love each other more than life itself. Cat Benatar is the shyer of the two but she will seek out affection when she's comfortable and likes to throw herself at her people. She will expose her belly but isn't quite sure yet she actually wants belly rubs. Unfortunately, Lickerish (Cat Benatar's sister and her best friend) was diagnosed with feline leukemia, which will drastically shorten her lifespan. Thus far, Cat Benatar has tested negative (twice). We considered adopting them out separately as Cat Benatar is at risk of contraction of leukemia if she stays with her sister. However, we ultimately decided against it. These girls provide each other with so much love and are usually found as one single cuddle puddle with their limbs intertwined. We would like to adopt them out together so that Lickerish will be with her sister for her shortened life. We understand this is a big ask of an adopter: to adopt two shy cats, one of which has feline leukemia. But we know that the right person is out there for these girls. Feline leukemia is contagious from cat to cat but cannot be spread to dogs or people.
