DOB 6/13/23 - Aspen24 is a very sweet boy. He gets nervous when he transitions to a new place, but once he feels comfortable and trusts you his true personality comes out. Aspen loves to be pet and enjoys time in a lap. He can be vocal with sweet little trills when he is happy or excited. He is extremely playful and will play with the wand toy until he gets exhausted. Also plays well with toys on his own but loves interactive play. He would do well with a young cat playmate with similar energy to run around with. He likes to play wrestle with other cats, so a cat who doesn't like that would not be a match for him. He was not around dogs in foster, but he looked afraid when he heard the neighbor's dog barking, so a home without dogs or a dog that doesn't bark very much would probably be best for him. He would do well with adults and older children.Adoption processThe first step in the adoption process is coming into the shelter to meet a cat. Once you have found the perfect match for you, you will fill out a one page adoption application. We will then do any necessary vet checks to make sure that if you have any existing pets that they are up to date on all vaccines and have been seen for regular vet care. Once you have been approved one of our volunteers will contact you to set up the adoption. The last step is one of our volunteers will bring the new member of your family to you and you will sign an adoption contract. We do not spay/neuter or give rabies to kittens under six months of age. If you adopt a kitten under six months you will be required to spay/neuter and give them their rabies at your expense. This will be in the adoption agreement. The adoption fees are $90 for one cat/kitten and $140 for two.
