Adopt Sierra a Tortoiseshell Domestic Shorthair (short coat) cat in
If Sierra was a human, she’d live in the Villages in Florida, drive a golf cart, and beat disrespectful whippersnappers over the head with a floral umbrella. She’s a little old lady cat looking for a quiet retirement. No one’s really sure about her age, just that she’s a senior. She likes to look out the window and when she wants something, she will let you know it. She has so far done fine with other cats. Despite her age, none of them dare mess with her. On occasion, some of the other cats in the household will sit next to Sierra and she will tolerate their existence. She’d probably also be OK with a small dog. She’s arthritic and doesn’t jump high. In terms of litter manners, she does best when the litter box is on the same floor as the one she tends to stay on. She loves dry food and has never shown an interest in wet food. Sierra needs prednisolone every other day and she takes it in liquid form. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
