Adopt Pita a Gray, Blue or Silver Tabby Domestic Mediumhair / Mixed (medium
Fountain Valley, CA
Pita was a neighborhood stray (6 mos. ) we began to feed in our backyard, about 1 1/2 yrs ago. She was somewhat feral-became more tame as she became more trusting. We took her to veterinarian for spay and shots. Eventually, we were able to bring/keep her in the house. I only had a senior pug at that time, and they got along OK, because my pug had hind end weakness and couldn't chase her. They were both mellow and even slept together on our bed at night. Unfortunately, last October, my pug passed on and since then we have adopted three rescue puppies, 2 pugs and a poodle. They are young and love to chase her, so Pita pretty much just hides in the back bedroom now. I give her the run of the house at night but she does not receive the attention or interactive play she was used to (dogs bark at and scare her). Not a very fun, fulfilling life, and I hesitate to let her outside; aside from coyotes, dogs would prevent her from returning. Would do well in quieter home, maybe with an older single/couple.
