Adopt Nicky a Gray or Blue Russian Blue / Domestic Shorthair / Mixed cat in
Nicky is a fifteen year old front de-clawed boy. Don't let his age fool you, boy does he like to play! Most especially with stick toys. It's fun to watch this active senior go after stick toys with such energy and spunk! Nicky came to us with 3 other cats, and is currently hanging out in our community room with his friends, and 2 other cats. Nicky's BFF at his previous home was Sammy, just in case you are looking for two! Their adoption charges would be waived for a senior for senior adoption, or on Senior Sundays! Come meet these super sweet kitties.Nicky is out-going, super friendly, and extremely affectionate. He doesn't mind being held, and seems to be a lap cat. What more could you want in a cat? He is so attractive, and such a love-bug! Age is only a number, just ignore it, and go for the kitty that steels your heart!Nicky is listed as special needs, but he really doesn't need anything special! When he got to the shelter he tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Unfortunately there is a stigma attached to this condition so cats like Nicky are at a disadvantage when potential adopters are looking for a new kitty! The truth is, cats like Nicky that have FIV can live with other cats and can live perfectly healthy lives. The way FIV is transmitted is through very deep, aggressive bites (like Nicky probably endured out on the streets before coming to us). FIV cats do not need medication or special food, and can live long full lives without illness. The only thing they need is regular check ups, lots of love, and to stay indoors.
