When his owner was ill, Bandit loyally laid on his bed with him, keeping him company as his illness progressed. Once his owner passed away, Bandit was tossed outside as he was no longer wanted or needed. Thankfully, his foster mom heard of his situation, where he was actually sleeping in a box in the garage in the chilly temperatures. She took this loyal kitty into her house and contacted our rescue. Our mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets, including after the owner has passed away. Bandit is 5 years old, fixed, current on vaccinations, had full bloodwork, and microchipped. He is completely healthy and has excellent litterbox habits. He loves cat nip and his blue feather toy on a stick. Discovering new cat toys is something this curious guy is finally getting to do, as his ill owner was bedbound and unable to get him new toys. He has lived successfully with a large dog and other cats and may be able to do so in your home with proper introductions. He has met cats and a larger dog in his foster home and does well and is interested in playing with the other cats. Like many cats, he likes affection on his terms (really, who doesn't?) which means he comes to you for pets and cuddles when he is ready for them. He especially loves the top of his head scratched. His foster mom says he can sit in your lap for hours getting kisses on the top of his head. He would do best with a cat savvy owner who knows how to read cat body language and is ok with a cat that comes to them when he is ready for pets and affection. Simply put, Bandit is cat that acts just like cats do.
