Description:

Simba is young (4ish) tan kitty cat with eyes as golden beige as he is. Whenever out he gets so many oohs & aahhs. His color combo must be pretty unique. We took him from someone who had kittens & he's never found peace in our home. We had 3 cats prior, all only 1-3 yrs themselves but didn't welcome him in for some reason. He is SUPER affectionate, & over time we realize maybe the cats don't appreciate the group hugger he is. The 2 litter mates we had sometimes groom each other, but his playful advances seem to royally annoy the other cats. He is really cool, it's a shame. We've worked on it for the past 4 yrs non-stop. TRUST me, this is not out of laziness or neglect. The only thing I didn't splurge on is a private cat behaviorist to come over because it's $$$. The dynamic is so crazy & after calming collars, renovating spaces & adding multiple perch/play things & litters nothing's made an improvement. If they aren't avoiding him & acting more depressed than they were before he came along, they hiss & fight. The best solution is for him to find a home he can get treated like the "Prince of the Pride" he is. He's actually not one of those crazy type cats- he CAN be super chill a lot of the day as well. The Vet did some physical tests to see if he behaved like a cat that wasn't social, & she said he's not that at all. He didn't mind her pushing any of his buttons. I was trying to re-home him somewhere with zero cats, but as of today, she feels it's probably just our home. He's adaptable among the different personalities in our home- a teenage boy, college student, 3 working adults some lazy, some hyper active. He can be playful or chill. He enjoys a good fetch as much as rolling on his back for a belly rub. He's like part Golden Retriever- he fetches- not your normal "cat-chase-prey" type of fun...he darts across the room for a hair band & brings it back like 'is that all you got?'. But he hasn't acted anxious the whole couple months he's been shut in my room to avoid any more tension- so he's calm, too. He'd be as good for a single slower paced adult, or young family with kids. When our younger family is over he's the only one who comes out to play & likes the rough play! He's never sprayed or had any litter issues. He's not a picky eater, but not over weight. Shots up to date, neutered, of course, healthy all around. If it were just me in the home- I'd keep him & try longer, but I share my home & have been outvoted on spending any more time or nights in Animal ER due to some injury from a cat fight. My cat that stays in my room & has been with me since before we moved in has disowned me since he's been kicked out of what I'm sure he considers his bedroom where I used to keep him at night & when I get ready for work in mornings- which breaks my heart as equally. Simba is really a simple special guy- I think it just turns out our prior cats are more difficult than we thought! The fact he hasn't shied away & keeps trying to rub up near them even though they won't have him proves he's either the biggest mush or the dumbest cat!
