Oh hello! My name is Priddy Lane! I’m a petite two year old black kitty with the most adorable white toes on one of my back feet—I think they help me stand out from the crowd. Sometimes my foster mom calls me “Snowtoes” because of my unique little toes! I’ve had quite the journey…one of BTKR’s trappers found me at a Starbucks, where I had kittens. I was a good mama to my babies, but life was hard out there, and I was bullied a lot by the bigger cats. I was pretty trap savvy and it took her a whole YEAR to trap me…she and my foster mom agree I am totally worth that long wait, and I’m so glad she never gave up on me! When I first got rescued I was scared and hissy. But my trapper, the lady who was feeding me, and my foster mom saw something in me, and they wanted me to have a chance at an indoor life. Gradually I learned to start trusting and letting them pet me. While I was at the rescue recovering from my spay, I caught a bad cold, and my foster mom brought me to her house to take care of me. That was where I discovered that indoor life is a-MAZE-ing!!!! I am a foodie, and I LOVE wet food. Currently I’m on Nulo Freestyle Turkey and Duck. I also ADORE Churu treats! Food is a great way to build my trust. I get really excited when my foster mom starts making dinner, and I love to rub against her legs to encourage her to open those cans quicker! I like the kitchen in general, and I have an enduring obsession with the dishwasher—I LOVE to sit near my foster mom and watch her load and unload it! So if you want a helper with dishwashing duty, I’ll be your cheerleader! You might notice in some of my photos that my nose is a tiny bit crooked. I saw the vet and it turns out I have a deviated septum; the vet said it might make me more likely to get congested, but that unless it’s causing any serious issues it doesn’t require intervention. Since I got to my foster home I haven’t had any congestion; my foster mom uses air purifiers, and I think just being inside away from all the pollen helps me! I am learning how to play and connecting with my inner kitten! I love ball track toys, and I ESPECIALLY love balls that I can chase around—that is the best! And I love toy catnip mice; my foster mom and I like to play with them together, and I bat at them like a tiny boxer. I LOVE to be petted and I do the cutest little wiggle because I get so excited for pets. I do NOT like being picked up at all, and I don’t seem to be a lap kitty. I adore being brushed; when my foster mom takes the brush out I run over. I love my spa days and being pampered! I also really like treehouses, windows to look out of, and long naps in my favorite cozy chair. With other cats that are new to me, I can be a little hissy and swatty at first, probably because I had to defend myself so much outside, but with time I’ve made peace with the other kitties in my foster home. If there are other cats in my new home, proper slow introductions are a must. I think dogs would make me nervous, and I do need to be in a pretty quiet, calm home with adults only, or very gentle and calm older kids. I need adopters who are patient, and willing to give me the time I need to warm up to them and feel safe in a new home. It took a few weeks in my foster home for me to start really being myself. So that’s my story—it’s been a “Priddy” winding road (see what I did there?) but I am ready to find my forever family, and live the secure indoor life with them!
