Meet Ollie, a handsome tabby who’s just a year-and-a-half old. He’s a quiet guy who loves to take treats offered to him from your hand. He also likes slow, gentle pets, which get his purring machine humming. Ollie tends towards the shy side, but he is quickly learning how to be a sociable guy – he’s making great strides in his foster home. Are you Ollie’s new family? You might be if you have a quiet home and can take the time to help him continue to make the great progress he’s made. He would love nothing better than to keep that purring machine running with you!Adoption processTo adopt a cat or dog from PAWS Chicago: - Be at least 21 years of age. - Have a form of identification (license or state ID) - Verify that you are allowed to have a cat/dog where you currently live. - Be able to spend the time and resources necessary to provide the training, medical treatment and proper care for your cat. - Bring along all family members (including children) to meet the cat/dog(s). - Be able to take the cat/dog home on the day of adoption. - Have the time to spend up to an hour with an adoption counselor to discuss the responsibility of owning a cat/dog and making it a lifetime commitment. Adoption Fee: - $150.00 for kittens - $100.00 for cats 1-5 years of age - $75.00 for cats 6-9 years of age - $50.00 for cats 10 years and older - $450.00* for puppies - $350.00* for dogs 1-7 years of age - $200.00 for dogs 8 years and older *A $100.00 refundable training deposit is also required for each dog/puppy. This deposit is refundable upon completion of obedience training. You will have four months from the date of the adoption to complete a basic obedience class with your new puppy/dog. When you provide proof that your PAWS dog has completed a course, we will reimburse you the $100.00 deposit you submitted at the time of adoption.
