Odin, Domestic Shorthair For Adoption In Encinitas, California

Location:
Encinitas, CA
Description:

*** Odin is in a foster home. ***Orange tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 5/1/23, #18990Other cats: does okay Dogs: mixed, see below Children: older respectful kids Odin showed up in rural north county, taking cover under cars on a property that belongs to the son of a longtime Rescue House volunteer... he knew just who to call! Odin wasn't neutered or microchipped, but he was sure sweet, and he is now ready to find his forever people.Odin is a great cat! He wants 100% of your attention and will follow you all around the house in order to get it. Watch where you walk, because Odin will plop in front of your feet and roll over on his back. He'll get jealous of your phone if you're distracted by it and not petting him. As a teenager, his mind is often on the game... any game... any toy. Bring out the Cat Catcher wand, aka "wire mouse", and he'll be flying through the air after it. He'll play fetch with loose toys that you toss. If you wiggle your feet at night under the covers, you may get an unexpected Odin pouncing on them. He'll also be snuggling with you in bed, though! He is a lap cat and a cuddlebug and he enjoys being held. Odin adores it when you give him a good brushing; his short hair may not get matted, but he is a bigger shedder than some and he'll be in bliss when you bring out the brush. All in all, Odin is a sweetheart and a great kitty buddy.Odin is comfortable with other cats after an introduction and could also be a solo kitty. He is intimidated by larger dogs and doesn't want to live with them; he has also met some senior Chihuahuas and done better, so calm small dogs who won't view him as prey should be all right once properly introduced. Since he can occasionally get a little overstimulated when petting time and playtime are too close together, and give small nips then, we recommend a home with respectful children who are old enough to understand that Odin is a young kitty who is still learning his manners and help him become the best gentleman. Will Odin bring joy to your heart and home?Adoption processAll prospective adopters must complete an application and be interviewed as part of the adoption process.Shelter locationWe at The Rescue House believe that we can contribute to the welfare of our furry friends by implementing an Adoption Program.
