Jack was brought to the vet in January 2023 by his previous owners who requested euthanasia for him. They said he had not eaten for the past 3 days and had been vomiting constantly. The vet staff examined him and realized that Jack had not been fed the proper diet for his IBD (Irritable Bowl Disease) condition. Upon discussion with his owners, the vet staff convinced them to sign Jack over to Heartland Humane Society so we could get his IBD under control and find him a new home.Jack has flourished in his foster home. His weight at intake was close to 20 pounds, he is now down to 15 and is happy and healthy. Jack is a friendly, sweet boy who absolutely deserved a second chance at life. He is affectionate, reaching out to give and receive head butts, scritches and snuggles. He loves to sit next to his people on the couch and desk, and loved to chat with them. He loved food, toys and especially his catnip banana. He would do well in a home with older children. Jack likes other cats with a proper introduction, he is definitely a "beta" cat who takes cues from others.Jack's IBD is managed by diet alone. He is currently eating Blue Buffalo Basics - Turkey and Potato (easily found at Petsmart, Amazon and other retailers). September 9, 2023, 10:05 pm
