Rex was a stray running the streets of Cairo. A kind supporter sponsored this cat to be trapped and brought to PAWS. He has blossomed into a sweet loving baby that just wants to be loved and cared for. He is a beautiful buff colored boy that we are guessing to about 3-4 years old. He was very timid and frightened when he first arrived and it took him about two weeks to venture out and ask to be petted. He never offered to scratch or bite before that - he just hid but would not be mean if I continued to try to pet him. He is friendly with other cats but I don't know if he has been exposed to dogs. He doesn't seem like he would be afraid of them if they are nice to him. His adoption fee is $75. If you are interested in him, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the application. Occasionally, the adoption fee will be higher and, if that is the case, it will be noted on the animal's profile. When you adopt your new dog or puppy, it will be spayed or neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and up to date on routine shots. If it is six months or older, it will have been tested for heartworms and placed on a heartworm preventative. Cats: The adoption fee for most PAWS kittens and cats is $75. When you adopt your new cat or kitten, it will be spayed or neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and up to date on its shots, with the exception of its rabies shot, which must be given by a vet. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ADOPT A CAT OR KITTEN, BE SURE TO BRING A CARRIER OR PET TAXI WITH YOU. WE CANNOT SEND A CAT/KITTEN HOME UNLESS IT IS IN A CARRIER/PET TAXI. We certainly recommend that you continue your pet's routine vaccination regimen with your veterinarian. SAME DAY ADOPTIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE, SO IF YOU ARE DRIVING FROM A DISTANCE, PLEASE MAKE ADVANCE ARRANGEMENTS. IF YOU RENT, YOU MUST BRING A SIGNED RENTAL AGREEMENT FROM YOUR LANDLORD STATING THAT IT IS OKAY FOR YOU TO HAVE AN ANIMAL IN THE HOUSE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A RENTAL AGREEMENT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE COMPANION ANIMAL OF YOUR CHOICE HOME WITH YOU. OUT OF STATE ADOPTERS ARE ASKED TO PAY THE ADOPTION FEE IN CASH.
