Hello, my name is Wrecker. I am a DSH black and white male, grateful for all the love and medical help I have received. Yes, I was a wreck when I came to Wild Blue but I have persevered! I had a severe upper respiratory infection and lots of dental issues. I have since had dental surgery to remove all my teeth and other medications to help my healing. My response for petting has varied throughout this process, but now that I am feeling better, I am relaxing more. I'm learning to trust humans again now that my pain has gone away. My estimated DOB is 3/16/14. I need a calm approach and a chance to smell you. I prefer slow hand motions and then I am comfortable with head and ear rubs then back strokes. Calm assurances and conversations help me to get to know new people, and every day is an improvement in trust. I'm a quiet and independent guy overall, and I can be assertive with other cats if needed if they get in my circle of space. Otherwise, we respect each other and mind our own business. Soft churu treats are a good association with love, and I love my wet food. I did test FIV+ during my medical review, and I am currently on a new medication that is doing wonders in keeping my residual stomatitis symptoms at bay. I am also on a medication 1x/month to help with my osteoarthritis symptoms and I am feeling super.
