Are you a cat whisperer? Calli needs you.Calliope is a wonderful, affectionate, gentle, playful, and loving kitty when she knows you. When she knows you and can trust you, she initiates affection and interactions and her sweet personality comes out. When she feels safe, she is content, and feels happy, and can be herself.The person who adopts her must have the patience to allow Calli some time to trust and adjust to the new home. There is no reason for the person to be fearful or shy with Calliope as she has proven over and over to be nothing but a gentle and good kitty. So if you were to adopt Calliope, it would take awhile for her to warm up to you. She might act like she is afraid of you but how long that goes on will depend on how you interact with her and how often. My guess is, a couple of weeks, maybe less, maybe a bit longer. In the foster room, she has spots to cozy up in, but she cannot completely hide. Calliope runs and hides from dogs still. But just like cats and people, each dog has her own personality. Some dogs are very gentle with cats and leave them alone. Some dogs chase cats and are intrusive in a cat’s space. Call would not do well with a space-invading type of dog. Calliope loves other cats. She loves her sister and the two other kittens in the foster room. She loves to wrestle and play hide-n-seek and chase with the other cats. She is a very nice balance of being independent but also wanting cuddles. Call does really cute things, like she is the first one to greet her foster mother whenever she comes in the room. She gently swishes around her legs and asks for pets. She is athletic and leaps very high to catch a wand toy and she loves ball games. She reaches out with her paw when a lickable treat approaches her mouth. She has silky soft fur and loves snuggling. She is more of a smaller cat and she has striking and gorgeous markings. Most of all, Calliope seems very grateful to have been rescued and she is slowly gaining her confidence to explore beyond the foster room and meet new people.
