Meet Muffin, our show stopping girl who is looking for her new forever home! She is on the shy side at first but has made great strides coming out of her shell in her foster home. Her favorite activity is to sit next to you and watch you work from home for the day, or follow you around the house and just be in your company. She has warmed up to pets, so long as they are on her terms is all. Muffin is looking for a nice, quiet home where she can continue to figure out all the joys it is to be a spoiled house cat. Are you Muffin's new family? You might be if you are an experienced cat owner who can dedicate time to help Muffin socialize and become confident in her new forever home.Adoption processTo adopt a cat or dog from PAWS Chicago: - Be at least 21 years of age. - Have a form of identification (license or state ID) - Verify that you are allowed to have a cat/dog where you currently live. - Be able to spend the time and resources necessary to provide the training, medical treatment and proper care for your cat. - Bring along all family members (including children) to meet the cat/dog(s). - Be able to take the cat/dog home on the day of adoption. - Have the time to spend up to an hour with an adoption counselor to discuss the responsibility of owning a cat/dog and making it a lifetime commitment. Adoption Fee: - $150.00 for kittens - $100.00 for cats 1-5 years of age - $75.00 for cats 6-9 years of age - $50.00 for cats 10 years and older - $450.00* for puppies - $350.00* for dogs 1-7 years of age - $200.00 for dogs 8 years and older *A $100.00 refundable training deposit is also required for each dog/puppy. This deposit is refundable upon completion of obedience training. You will have four months from the date of the adoption to complete a basic obedience class with your new puppy/dog. When you provide proof that your PAWS dog has completed a course, we will reimburse you the $100.00 deposit you submitted at the time of adoption.
