Meet Winnie, 5 months old Domestic Shorthair
2/5/14-Sweet little Winnie is an adorable kitten who was rescued from a very painful existence as a stray. This little darling was found with a broken left front leg. It was an old injury and she no longer had feeling in the lower part of the extremity. She arrived at Operation Kindness terrified and was taken in to give her a chance at a better life. After a thorough examination of the leg, the veterinarian tech team had to make the painful decision to amputate the limb. So, young Winnie is slowly starting to adapt to the loss of her leg. And, although she has a feral background, the staff and volunteers who have been working with her found her to be nothing but a little darling and sweetheart. Winnie loves being petted, but the surgery site is still tender and she is somewhat sensitive to being held and removed from her cage. However, everyday Winnie exhibits more and more trust and comfort in the humans who are working with her. She is also starting to adjust to the loss of her leg and becoming more mobile within her safe caged environment. An experienced cat owner who is willing to continue helping Winnie with her rehab and have the extra TLC and patience in which to do so, would be recommended for this little angel. Won't you take a few minutes to come in and meet Winnie? She will show you just how much she deserves a precious forever home.
