Meet Tails, 10 years old Domestic Medium Hair
I'm sure you've heard the saying, "He has a face only a mother could love." Well, some people might say that about me but that's ok. You see, I might look kind of raggedy right now, but my fur will grow back and my scars will disappear. And then my outside will match my inside. On the inside, I am stunning and strong and brave. My name is Tails, and I think whomever named me didn't know how to spell because I don't have more than 1 tail, but boy do I have a lot of tales! Oh, the stories I could tell you. But, I bet you guessed that by just looking at me. I have tested positive for FIV. So what does that mean for you? Not much. FIV is not transmittable to dogs or humans. I can only transmit to cats via a penetrating bite. So I am generally pretty safe around cats too. It means if you have no other cats, I am definitely the perfect guy for you. But, I probably shouldn't be with someone who smokes. I was brought in as an injured stray. I even had a big gash across my neck, and I was very skinny! You might think that with all I've gone through, I would be sullen or resentful. But I'm not. I am a kind and gentle boy. I hope you won't be nervous about petting me, because I love the attention and it makes me feel warm and loved. Just a little rubbing on the top of my head, and I'll start purring up a storm. I am a little shy being around all the other cats. I tend to keep to myself, and try to stay up in the high areas of the room, so I can keep an eye on things. Someone at Max Fund can get me down to visit you though. I don't want to miss my chance at meeting you, just because I'm sitting on the top shelf. So please come see me and let me purr some of my tales to you!
