Meet Portnoy, 3 years old Domestic Shorthair
Portnoy is positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), which means she can only cohabitate with dogs, other non-cat animals, or other FeLV+ kitties. FeLV is species-specific and only contagious to other cats; it is not contagious to humans, dogs, or other non-cat animals. Portnoy must always remain an indoorkitty, and needs to be fed a nutritionally complete and balanced diet. Cats can live 2-4 yrs beyond when they are 1st diagnosed with FeLV - or even longer - so we'd love nothing more than for her to spend that with her own family. Portnoy's adoption payment is $0 because of her FeLV status; also, APA will provide assistance with her FeLV medical care. For more information, please contact Austin Pets Alive! All APA! foster kittens/cats are litterbox trained, tested for FeLV/FIV, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for worms/fleas, micro chipped and come with a 30-day health insurance plan.If you have additional questions about Portnoy, please send an email to XXXX@austinpetsalive.org.
